about us

AP Works seeks to connect people with the quiet poetry that architecture can hold.

We work where design, coordination, and community engagement meet, helping our neighborhood, designers, and institutions shape ideas into clear, resonant forms. Whether through space, text, drawing, or conversation, to champion architecture with intentionality.

Our practice centers on people living within our spaces while honoring our responsibility to the planet and land we build on.

our process

We partner with homeowners, classrooms, and communities, offering design, guidance, and a vision for a more thoughtful built world.

We design for the unseen forces that give a place its character. We question assumptions, honor context, and practice with authenticity—crafting spaces that invite life to happen.

Meet the Founder

Madalyn A. Melton has over a decade of experience working with the built environment. With a deep love for design, tectonics, and theory, Madi was naturally drawn to the profession of architecture.

In her work, she champions these principles in her residential designs, diligently crafting each client’s bespoke home alongside her studio. Madi has become integral in a range of mentorship and engagement programs and finds joy in exploring these passions within the community.

Professionally, she is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, serves as Co-Chair for the 52nd season of Krob, and is a Departmental Editor at Columns Magazine. Her latest publication is An Architecture of Representation Essays and Drawings Across 50 Years of the Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition. Madi enjoys camping, museum going, and expanding her horizons with friends and family.
